shizasta's Journal, 03 January 2014

Today is my last day at home for quite a while. I'm heading back off to college in Wisconsin and am interested to see how my new daily routine will affect my weight. There's a great YMCA there and I will certainly be using that but my only issue is that I don't know where to find a scale..... I don't have one in my dorm and I'm not sure where it would be in the Y or at my school's rec center. I like weighing myself when I wake up because I feel like that is the most accurate depiction of my true form. Well time to go back to hours in the practice rooms! Hopefully I can make exercise my break as opposed to mass amounts of Grey's Anatomy!

At our college, our campus nurse has a scale. Maybe you can request one if they don't. We also have one in our campus gym but I'm sure you can request one in your student development center. Or you could just ask at the Y, they may have it in the locker rooms or out on the floor.

Scales are pretty inexpensive, especially a basic one. But if you can't afford it, I would ask at school. Just be prepared that it may be a little different from your scale at home. All scales are calibrated differently and the flooring can also effect the scale. Scales at gym (or any public ones) should be calibrated regularly but most aren't. So just do the best you can. Whatever one you choose, use it regularly to accurately gauge your weight loss.

How exciting! The cheap scales at walmart are often times better than the digital $80.00 scales! I think those are only 10-15 bucks. I agree mornings before eating is the best time to weigh!
