Turmeric is a spice that has significant medicinal value. That being said, the amount you might eat on a daily basis is nowhere near what is required to achieve those medicinal benefits. This is a good article on that subject. My neighbor and I talked about this at one time.— she is of East Indian background and a lifelong vegan and a master degreed dietician.. She adds turmeric to most dishes she makes, I think. She is a wonderful cook. I asked her if she took a turmeric supplement. She doesn’t, BUT she said in her country you eat turmeric from the day you are born and everyday of your life so their bodies have had the benefit of consistent intake over a long period of time. She indicated that people who consume a primarily Western diet would be better served to to take a high quality supplement, but not necessarily high dose because it can cause kidney stones. Just be careful of the MLM sales people out there. Always people who want to take advantage of others by selling non-existent magic pill claiming they don’t have to diet/exercise to loose weight. 💊
