Peeper, do you cook your meals or mostly get them from restaurants? Just curious. Everything you post always looks so yummy and comforting. I like to “indulge” through my eyeballs by going to your journal, lol 😍💖

Lol mostly cook. If it’s on a paper plate or round plate I or hubby cooked. If it’s on an oval plate it’s at a restaurant. If it’s a mash up of different foods then it’s leftover night and usually a mix of home and restaurant food. This meal is what the kids call stroganoff. It’s just egg noodles, hamburger patties and McCormick brown gravy (2 servings gravy, 1 serving noodles and meat changes but was about 190g tonight because I was hungry!!). 650 kcal for this heaping plate!

I wondered what it was but didn't want to ask. I can't digest eggs very well and therefore seldom eat them. Knowing that those are egg noodles is the reason why I tried them once and could not eat them. I wish I was normal and liked eggs! For me eggs and butter do not mix either.

That’s awesome, Peeper! When I first saw it, I definitely thought of stroganoff. Just missing the shrooms I guess. Hope you enjoyed, looks so yummy.

So 13 days ago I entered my information into this app to get an idea how much I was eating. So this app has me eating 1800 calories a day, I never hit that 1800 I’m always around 1200 to 1400 calories. The first week I lost 3 pounds and now it came back. Anyone else get a start like this?

Cookie, I lost 5# my first two weeks before this app. Some came back but most of what I lost was water not a real fat loss. The water will come and go. High carb days like pizza days or high salt days will have me up for a day or two then my body releases the extra water form that and I’m back down. Also, if you do things like lift weights you will lose slower because you are more likely to keep or gain muscle mass (which is good!) and only lose the fat or mostly just fat. The more muscle you can retain or build, the higher your calorie burn and the more you can eat while losing weight.

The gravy is a little different than actual stroganoff gravy and yes no mushrooms. I’m not a fan of mushrooms. Sometimes I’ll sauté some and add in for hubby and the kids that like them and keep mine and my other daughters mushroom free lol.

Ireland, I saw some noodles like these in Walmart once that said something about being eggless. Maybe you could find some of those? Or any other noodle that doesn’t have eggs would work too. I just prefer the shape of egg noodles.

Curious...are your hamburgers home made and what do you put in them?

I just use ground beef, make into patties and season with lemon pepper. Hubby prefers garlic salt or Montreal steak seasoning. You can use the pre pattied stuff. Just make sure you don’t have too much fat in it or it’ll shrink up really bad. And any seasoning you prefer is fine.
