I got lots of exercise in Montana today! Not only did I do my usual walk, but I also got in the water and paddled around on my River Rat! It was so fun, but my shoulders are a little sore this evening.

Photo Description:

1) Clark Canyon Reservoir is popular with boaters.

2) The reservoir is surrounded by lovely mountains.

3) Native Americans used smoothstem blazingstar (Mentzelia laevicaulis) for quite a few medicinal purposes. The roots were used to treat earaches, arthritis, mumps, measles, smallpox and to reduce fevers. They even chewed the roots to prevent thirst.

4) There are lots of beaches all along the water's edge.

5) Today I got in the water and paddled around on my River Rat until my shoulders were sore.

6) Yellow Sweetclover (Melilotus officinalis)

7) Here's an interesting way to enjoy the water.

8) The sun sets on another wonderful day at the Clark Canyon Reservoir.

That was like a floating sofa being pulled by that boat, PurpleAsh93. Two people were riding on it. Kalispell is about 4.5 hours north of where I am right now. I'm heading that way soon though.

What lovely photos once again! Thank you for sharing. I'll bet it was a bit of a trudge making your way up the hill from the lake. No snakes today?! 😁

Hills don't bother me as much as they used to, Melissa. In fact, I kinda like walking up hill now, because it reminds me of the hard time I used to have with them. I've not seen anymore snakes yet, but believe me when I tell you, I've been looking for them. 👀

Keep those boots on so you protect your ankles from fangs! 😁 Wish I was hiking those hills too!!!

The water looks so inviting and beautiful! Enjoy! I miss hiking. I used to go a lot and have clocked a lot of miles over the years. I loved looking down from the tops of hills and mountains after reaching the top. Good hiking boots are a must.
