Toni Bourlon's Journal, 30 September 2019

Well I survived the big wedding day for my daughter and didn't drink too much champagne or have too much cake. I had the grandkids all weekend, so I got no exercise beyond taking care of them. Now I'm at work, ready to get back into some kind of normal routine. One thing that happened, my 10-yr old grandson apparently has a pre-diabetes diagnosis. I bought some sugar-free cookies for the grandkids to snack on, plus some grapes & cheese sticks, which are probably better for them than the cookies. We had a little debate about whether fruit is "good" or "bad," and also what "natural sugar" is. I gently suggested that fruit isn't "bad," and apples are probably better than candy bars. Also, it would be impossible for him to avoid "natural sugar," which is in natural foods. All he needs to do is cut back on added sugar & get some exercise every day. But I'll probably get overruled by his Dads new girlfriend <eye roll>.
