Day 17
12 Hours Fasted

Down a pound to a new cut low on yesterday's unplanned, premature, extended window, carb friendly refeed. Second time this has happened, which means I am consistently holding on to water while fasting. Not sure what that means. Also not sure I really care.

Haven't made it past 48 hours yet. Sticking point remains evening cook for the fam. Fixed the nuke over the weekend so I can get my prep game back on point. Unfortunately, I failed to actually prep over the weekend. Saturday while fed would have been ideal, but instead I prepped meat sauce yesterday afternoon while fasted. I love my own cooking! Repurposed my sauce mince into four delicious tacos.

Prepped for Pop for the rest of the week last night, so should now be good to go. Just me and him for the rest of the week, so....

Once more unto the breach.

Shoulder has been truly fcuked again for the last couple weeks. In addition to delaying my gym return, it has made it difficult to work for any extended period of time. When this first struck a couple years back, I moved to a stand-up desk. Everybody said that sitting was the cause, the "new smoking," and a standing desk the cure. I got so frustrated I eliminated my whole sitting workstation and went 100% stand-up. Probably a little rash, that....

Anywho...getting tired of smelling like DMSO and Aspercreme all the time, although it does provide relief. The only stretch that does anything is reverse namaste, which is genius. I can only get about 1/3 into it, and that only by standing back to counter, with the heels of my hands on the edge of the counter top, and squatting, using the counter to force my hands up my back and closer together. It is painful and not wrist and elbow friendly, but super effective, virtually eliminating the knot in my neck in a few seconds. Ordered up some CBD oil, the promise of which has me running to the door every time I see the UPS truck on our block.

At 204.8# I am still 1.6# above where I started last year's cut. The good news is that I started 45 days earlier this year.

Beachable by Memorial Day.

Re-committing to fast until Saturday.

Let's go!

Jimmie , I am truly sorry you are in so much pain. It sounds as if you have tried just about everything to relieve the pain. Is there a massage therapy place at a mall near you? They have an open massage area in the mall and another area in their store front. Everything is done fully clothed. Usually, these men are trained in the massage art of reflexology. You may want to check this out. It had me saying, "Ah Shi" which is Chinese for "oh, yes!"

@scale Agreed wrt massage. Have a great masseuse right next door. Helps to a point, but does not solve. Same with the chiro, conventional therapy, and ART. Never really got it sorted when it first struck, just managed.

Rats, I was hoping I could suggest something beneficial. Have you tried those inverting table things they have at chiropractor's offices?

CBD cream is most helpful for joint relief near the skin surface, wrists, knees etc. as the cream ingredients don’t penetrate much below the surface (by design as skin is a barrier). However I use it vigorously on my back when I start getting muscle spasms. It’s not a cure all but the act of rubbing it in and the anti inflammatory properties of the herb does help.

You are diligent. I use capsaicin creme, the knots usually let loose especially in the neck.🙋

Jimmiepop- I've been having neck issues. The combination of PT and acupuncture is what's working for my chronic problem. Hope you are on the mend!
