On days like today I’m very thankful for Wellbutrin and my angels watching over us! Lunch with a friend:800 calories. Treat given to me by friend:140 cal. Headed out to the shed tot ale pictures of stuff for my aunt and 4 yo wanted to go. ‘Sandals aren’t a good choice hun. Ok fine but if the horses step on you it’ll break your foot so stay away from their feet!’ 🙄😬🤬 I knew better! As soon as the words left my mouth I knew better.

Scooped her up and carried her giving strict instructions as to where to stand in the shed and not to move. Moms horse (mine since Mom passed) is nosey, they all are, and was looking in the shed door. Back to the door taking pics after I assured myself that Macy was staying put. Here Harley coming in... turn around to grab Macy only to find her running to him!! I got there just as he came on up the step inside and stepped on her tiny foot. A tiny 4 year old foot trapped between 8” of concrete and a full grown quarter horse’s hoof. Wellbutrin helped me not to panic. I grabbed her and as soon as he lifted his hoof I grabbed her up and fled to the corner trapping us both behind flimsy ice chests to give her the illusion of safety. Did it work? Nope. Finally Harley is getting fidgety watching her and I can tell by his ears perked up, sniffing the air and dancing toward us that he wanted to check on her. I’ve come to read him quite well and he adores little kids.

So by screaming ‘STOP your scaring Harley and if he gets scared we could get hurt!’ I managed to get her to quit wailing long enough to look at him. Say her on the ice chests so that I could push him out. He didn’t want to go and kept trying to get past me to her. Got him and the others away, scooped her up, sat her on the old tires we keep by the door to keep it from hoping backward, finally for the door latched (it has settled and hubby normally has to do it), scooped her up again and made a mad dash across the pasture with a 3 hourse and 1 pony escort. I’d yelled for the older girls to grab my purse, gather anything they’d need for the next few hours and meet me at the suburban. Did they listen? Nope.

One ran to the house to pee and get ready. The oldest decided to stroll around the garden then open the gate asking why I was running like that carrying her (screaming) sister because I was only going to scare her. Complete with the teen look of ‘Mom you are so stupid’. ‘Harley stepped on her and broke her foot so we need to HURRY and get to town’. How do you know? Why would you let him near her? Can’t you keep Macy safe? Yeah I almost only had two children in that moment. Not really but if I’d have had a paddle her backside wouldn’t been sore. Finally got her to shit up and get out of the way because i obviously can’t climb a fence or crawl under an electric fence carrying a 38.6# kid without jarring her foot.

So short part - Tylenol, bathroom, threw stuff in a bag (she insisted that she would be hungry so she needed snacks and books and her dog etc) and flew to town. We won’t discuss how I made it there in half the usual time. She’s my little trooper! After X-rays and all the doc cake in asking a bunch of ‘?’s about it she was standing in mud, was this a full sized horse etc. seems she and the other doc couldn’t believe her foot wasn’t a mass of pieces of bone. Is it broken? Not sure. Swelling is too bad for them tot ell anything without a CT scan and they didn’t want to make her do one. So we go buy a boot tomorrow that will hopefully allow her to walk as she can’t now. She gets a mommy and me day tomorrow and back to school Wednesday. I’ll make an appt and IF it still hurts in a week they’ll X-ray again and if needed do a CT then. They were going to give her an antibiotic but didn’t. Guess they called in a script but seems my kids told them a different pharmacy than the one I told them so I’ve yet to find the meds yet. Will go around tomorrow looking for it and/or call the urgent care to ask.

So... dinner at 9pm. Any bad injury gets ice cream and since this may be a break it fell under ice cream treat. ‘Mommy you are going to get a shake too and eat with me right?’ ‘Yes baby, I’ll eat another 1000 calories today if it makes you feel better.’ ‘Thanks mommy :).’ So... there ya go. Should’ve had a couple beer but had ice cream instead. I didn’t panic. My kiddo is okay for the most part. I’ll have to hide the horse when hubby gets back from his trip. Macy loves Harley but doesn’t like him right now because he hurt her foot. She may never like him she says lol. Can hold a grudge at 4 🙄. Everyone’s in bed and NOW nerves hit me. I WANT to eat something but the thought of gorging more today makes me feel ill. My body seems to be fighting its own cravings and I’m thankful.

Now the odd part... what made me say about breaking her foot? What made me obsess over it so that I was able to get right to her when it happened? Why was it MOM’s horse who used to be flighty and has taken an interest in Macy and is gental around her and with her? And why was ONE single Tylenol broken in half when I needed that half? Not a single other one was broken at all and the one I happened to grab was broken right on the line. I 100% believe someone was with us today. Someone was whispering to me that it would be okay just don’t panic and get to town as quick as I could. Didn’t end up needing to be there that quickly but everything else was spot on.

And... was planning on finishing my workout that fit interrupted earlier but instead I got to carry a 38# kid around. Can I log that as weight lifting??? 🤓 It’s one of those days... but in all honesty it was a pretty good day all in all. Her foot MAY not be broken, she will have a boot that she thinks will be cool, we get a day together like we both wanted and she’s curled up in the recliner sleeping comfortably so I know she’s not in a lot of pain. You have to look at the positive... as I always say ‘if I don’t laugh I’m going to cry. I choose to laugh.’ I’m waiting for the crying to hit me... which is why I’m up writing this because usually it’ll hit me as soon as I lay down.
