on week 4 of induction and I have a lot to loose still but im adding in nuts and berries every other day. i screwed up and stayed in induction forever last time and i think this is where i went wrong .. any advise? My plan is to add them in like slowly and not every day. Even thought the pounds aren't rolling off like the first time it Atkins, I feel the difference. I feel stronger and leaner and less inches and hey 13lbs is still 13 lbs right? I welcome any ideas or thoughts any one can share. CHEERS!

Actually you can stay in induction as long as you want. Basically it should put you into ketosis after an adjustment period. It does get a little boring as far as food choices. I would add foods slowly and see how your body responds. You can also try a slight increase in carbs to accommodate the new foods.

How do you think being in induction screwed you up? I will say that my second time on Atkins, the weight loss is a lot slower. It's been pointed out to me on here that the only difference is that this time, I introduced nuts MUCH sooner and I ate Atkins products. Trying to cut those out and reboot.

To me, the whole point is to learn how to eat. Staying in induction indefinitely robs us of that learning curve.

i think i was in it too long .. 6 months, so i got tired of the same old food and i ate a handfull of popcorn one day and it all went downhill from there .. my old ways slowly came back and i gained the 50lbs i lost plus 10 more.
I am eating alot of atkins products.. but in 4 weeks ive only lost 13 lbs, last time i did it I lost 13 in the 1st two weeks then 2 lbs a week for 4 months.. I actually gained 3 back these 4 weeks and had to loose them again.. I dont cheat and i walk 3-5 times a week.. im just nervous I guess.. So should i stay in induction and not add the berries.. Iv added the nuts already bc i was told this is ok in induction after the 1st two weeks.
Any advise will help.. Im trying so hard and not seeing the same results as before but not giving up.

BuffyBear has a point. I looked at induction as simply postponing learning what I can tolerate until I was closer to my goal weight. But like you, Redgirl, the minute I started adding back in, I got complacent and just chunked right back to where I am now. So, what do I know? LOL. I am only speaking for myself that the atkins products are not tolerated by me. You seem to be losing at a steady and healthy pace, even if it's not as speedy as you're used to. I would maybe just add one for a couple weeks and see if that effects the pace of your weight loss. Then add the other. Only so you'll know, if you start to stall, which item it might be.

Hey there! Veggies, the leafy green kind. I don't see any in your daily food calendar for the 29th. These are so important, and eating them daily helps me. What STOPS any progress for me are the processed snack/meal bars of any kind/brand. I understand your concern for being on induction too long. I never learned to slowly and carefully add healthy carbs back. After a hard lesson ( gaining back most of what I lost) I'm back and willing to take this slow, and follow through with all the phases. Another thing I MUST do is track all my food. Once I stop logging, and start guessing - I'm lost.

I agree.. i need more veggies.and less bars and shakes. I recently added a vegetarian day for dinners in hopes that helps. and upped my physical activity and adding more water.. I think i need to take it slow..and just realize imma need to work for it if i want it ... on the bright side.. im not loosing LBS but inches for sure and my husband commented that he noticed a change
