I lost a little, big victory for me though. I haven't been feeling too hungry lately. I'm not complaining, BUT I haven't been able to get more than 3-4 hrs of sleep a night at most. I just can't seem to fall asleep and stay asleep.

What are your guys tips on falling asleep? My mind doesn't run, my eyes are closed, face and body are relaxed, but I just lay there awake 😔

I take melatonin. It isn't a cure but it has helped me some.

I have had sleeping problems for most of my life. I get something like 3 to 4 hours of sleep every night. After a few days of that I take an over-the-counter sleeping pill which is non-addicting. That may give me six hours of sleep. I have also found that exercising in the evening causes sleep issues. Everyone says that exercising in the evening should help sleep but for me it does not… It does just the opposite.

no caffeine past 10am. nice dinner (i can't sleep if i haven't been eating enough) and melatonin if you have a real sleeping issue regardless of these and you have it often (not good to take if your body is producing it naturally as well...more for people who have a deficiency)

I bought a little device for my wife called Dodow that seems to be working well for her. https://dodowsleep.com/ She has been suffering from insomnia for a long time and so far this is working very well for her.

There is a stuffed animal my kids got for Christmas called a Warmie it is filled with lavender and beans , you put it in the microwave for 1 minute the snuggle !😂Sounds stupid but I use it if I need to lol-😂 Also I sometimes use icy hot or Vick’s on my shoulders and neck helps me relax !

I typically use guided meditation designed to put you to sleep if I'm struggling. These typically guide you through breathing exercises and/or a physical "shut off" where you kind of manually go through your body and think about kind of shutting everything off, starting at your toes and working up. It's been very helpful for me, I hope it works the same for you!

This sometimes happens me on Keto or High Protein low carb. Some tricks: make sure you start at bedtime routine at min hr before bed, ie devices TV off and dim lights. Also, a class of warmed milk, will give a little lactose min carb boast that can help you get to sleep. If not to your taste, I sometimes go for a cup of camomile tea which is a relaxant which can soothe your mind and help you sleep. Other tricks include some carbohydrate in early evening which can settle you for sleep too. Very protein rich meals late in the day can keep you awake as your metabolism is in overdrive. Try to keep them to morning and mid day with lighter meals in the early evening. Try not to eat in the 4 hrs before sleep.

Sleep is a really interesting topic! There are several things that can improve your sleep. I have tried all of them and was able to increase my deep sleep time to 3-4 hours a night. This is what you can do: - don't eat 3-4 hours before you go to bed - eliminate all blue light after sunset (blue light in TV or smart phones disturb the production of melatonin!there are free apps that filter for it and even glasses 👓 (to buy) for that purpose) - try to go to bed at the same time each day - sleep in complete darkness as all kind of artificial light can disturb your body at night (I use a sleeping mask) I hope that helps and improves your sleep 😉

I’m blessed to be able to sleep anytime anywhere. But I also wear myself out day to day. Rarely sit and “veg” around so when bed time comes I’m a sleep before head hits the pillow. My ex hubby could not sleep at all. I feel blessed. I wake up refresh and ready to repeat the previous day!!! Exercising gives me tons of energy and better sleep too! Coffee does not effect my sleep. But going to bed hungry is a no no. Weird dreams 😜

I used to have problems sleeping, no more unless I’m stressed and anxious, then I still keep to plan. I have an alarm that goes off on my phone at 10:45 every night. That’s my cue to wrap it up and get ready for bed even if I’ve fallen asleep on the couch or am out and about. I put electric tape on all the LEDs in my room. Those irritating buggers not only jar me out of deep sleep, they can wake me up. I turn my phone over when it’s charging so there are no notifications. And finally, because I have others with snoring issues (I should say alleged because they swear they don’t snore) I have a white noise machine. That thing zonks me out hard until morning.

I have the same sleep issue and have started to use turmeric extract which seems to have a positive impact. Has anyone else tried this?
