Lunaray's Journal, 20 December 2016

Down my first 3lbs. Cravings for carbs have diminished; however, still having fits of sugar cravings. When I stopped smoking cigs a few years ago, I started eating more ice cream. Even thought I gained a lot of weight, I'm so glad I stopped.

I've been having trouble with increasing my fat- so I bought 100% unsweetened cocoa powder, unsweetened coconut flakes and coconut oil. I mixed it together over low heat with 3 drops of Stevia. it's in the fridge cooling. But, I think I still need more fat for the day, so I've added salmon and avocado to my dinner. But, I must admit, I don't like the taste of all of this fat-too rich.

Does anyone have any advice for increasing fat without the rich taste? Suggestions on increasing fat without carbs in general. Thanks! Y'all are awesome!!

Look at cheese's including cottage cheese. Also walnuts and I think cashews, or at least look at nuts.

Have you tried using coconut oil in your coffee (if you drink coffee)? or tea? I found I didn't really need to add extra fat to keep fat ratio up. Just what was in the food I ate and fat I cooked with...

i don't go as high on the fat as they say... really its hard to guide by a % since that will depend on your calorie, carb, and protein limits/goals, which come first, and then the fat is just to fill in the rest of the calories. I snack on sunflower and pumpkin seeds or almonds or walnuts, and then have a half avocado a day. Sautee your vegetable and eat versions of meat that are slightly more creamy than you are used to. My fat goal is only 60g and thats pretty easy to get to. 1/2 and avocado (apx 70g) is 10g of fat. A serving of sunflower seeds, which is A LOT (66g with the shell - I usually only eat a half serving) is 15g fat and 1 net carb.

I have at times used the fat bombs if I really really just need a few more grams of fat and nothing else but I haven't found anything I'd call delicious yet.

Make sure if you add coconut oil to coffee/tea you blend well. Stirring is NOT good enough!

You get used to the rich taste of fat... the first time I had scrambled eggs with 3 tablespoons of butter I almost gagged. I'm over that now... BUTTER ON ALL THE FOOD!
