Well I had a minor blip this week, still fasting on the days as planned, but opened my Christmas nuts and demolished 3/4 of them in a sitting, I now realise that I just need to cut nuts out altogether, other than my nut flours, I just cannot resist them. I still lost weight, which is great, but I might have lost more had I not gone crazy with the nuts. So, this week I will stick strictly to my eating plan, even on Christmas Day, as I have a delicious but 'good' meal planned, it will taste indulgent, which is what it's about for me. Happy Christmas to all, enjoy your day, however you are celebrating.

Good luck Jbonly with reaching your target, tantalisingly close! I am thoroughly enjoying the 5:2, seriously think I will stick with it beyond target too.

I found the 5:2 great when I was working. Started it after seeing the Horizon programme. On a Wed and Thursday I would have nothing until I came home from work, then have a 500 calorie meal and that was it.
When I retired I found it so difficult. I was in the house all day while my other half had breakfast, elevenses and lunch, and I found it too difficult to go all day with nothing. At work there was no food to tempt me. At home it was everywhere. Had a go at reducing my RDI two days a week, when I first joined here, but it wasn't a great success.

I do OK at home Jocko, I too am surrounded by food, but luckily for me it is all high carb , so holds no interest for me. If it was nuts or a LC cheesecake, then I would be done for! I hope you find something that works for you now you are a man of leisure :-)

I'm impressed that you plan to be 'good' on Christmas Day! I intend to go mad!! Hee hee!

If I went mad on Christmas day, I would beat myself up about it and probably have a binge fest for a few weeks, so have planned carefully, luxurious food within plan and enough to sait but not stretch lol.
