you will get there!! discipline and commitment is going to take you to your goal!. I just started again, and trust me, I know exactly how you feel but, if I can do it, so can you! don't give up, keep recording your meals, keep managing portions and you will be fine!! I see you already lost one pound, that's awesome! any loss is a gain. and no gain is also a gain in this journey!! keep up the good work!!

You will get there. It’s going to take time. Just think positive and made good food choices. One thing I learned is not to go by the scale so much. Go how your clothes are fitting. Sometimes your clothes will fit different even if the scale is not showing it.

What’s your “Why”? It’s easier to stick to your meal plan when you have a big reason to get healthy and fit. Do you have any medical goals or a pair of jeans that you want to fit into?

It took me 1 year to lose 50 pounds. Slow and steady wins the race! It’s a marathon (life style), not a sprint (fad diet). Hang in there!! You can do it!

@JustBananas…agreed. Having a “why” is important. Mine is my 2 granddaughters. 🩷💜

I need inspiration. I don't seem to be getting the message. Not sure what will work for me.

You have already taken the most important step. I had been near obesety and forgot how good it feels to be at a healthier weight. Once you get into the routine or tracking everything you eat (a food scale is very useful) and a daily weigh in, you can get a good idea of your true maintenance calories. Even an agressive goal of 1 lbs/week means a deficit of 500 cal daily. Substitutions such as nonfat greek yogurt instead of whip cream, unsweetened tea instead of soda, smartpop instead of chips can easily get that deficit without having to reduce food volume. Walking 6-10k steps daily is also a great cardio option that's easy on the body.

Jojo, you are definitely not alone. We're all on a journey to better health. Learn how to eat a healthy diet that you can follow for the rest of your life. Good luck!

Lots of motivation works in the beginning, but what works in the long haul is well developed habits. You can do this.

What motivated you to start this journey to begin with? Focus on that. Or create motivation.... maybe sign up for a 5K run like 6 months out and invite a friend to do it with you.
