YoH, if anything, I lose weight when stressed (forget to eat). Just trying to keep the exercise up. I'm not religious but I will always make time to step outside for a mental time-out.💚

Good to hear😉. And it’s absolutely fine, you dont have to be religious all blessings in any form may help. Never know right!? I wouldn’t say im religious i just have a ton of faith. No judgements either way. Don’t forget to eat that can be just as bad as the opposite especially for coping skills. I quit eating for a couple months when my mom was passing away and lost 30 lbs in 60 days but I couldn’t cope at all. Faked it and had private meltdowns. Super don’t want that for you sweet friend.

thanks for the honesty and recipes. changes has historically been difficult for me. But health concerns have forced me to change my eating habits. Here is to the first step.

@29p2: change can be exciting! @YoH: 30 pounds in 2 months is dramatic -- that's like the stomach going into hibernation. I will feel more in control of my life once my family sits down and makes a plan. It's the uncertainty that makes me unfocused about food & activity. That's why I'm intentionally scheduling the yoga sessions.

From experience unfortunately, i have a tendency to stop all care for myself when someone i love is in crisis. Sometimes that can be a short time or sometimes can last years. It can have devastating health consequences. You are so healthy now and so beautiful with a loving partner (reading between lines there). You MUST take care of yourself. Eat properly, give yourself care. You are so kind to myself and others on here dont forget to be kind to yourself even when things are chaotic, stressful, scary, out of your control. You deserve to be healthy always. Im babbling but sincere..

@YoH: I'm eating properly - my kitchen is stocked with fresh food, the freezer is full of individual portions of homemade stews and curries, fruit bowl is front & center. I was only fat for 2 years, so thin habits were easy to return to. Am just walking more; exercise is more for de-stressing rather than joy lately. I'm struggling with how much to unload on the new GF so as to not introduce an overly heavy element to our bubble of happiness. Will probably wait until after the family meeting. I need that bubble as a break from the stress.💚

@Suze: I think yoga is a great introduction to full-body exercise, and I hope you and your partner are making it to classes regularly because it's also a way to expand your social circle to include fitness-minded people. I'm so impressed with your progress and efforts to overhaul your health💚!

Walking alone is also a stress reliever for me. Sometimes my head space needs CLEARING from too much socializing (work, students, staff #800 people per week is exhausting)

@Storms: my mom was a teacher, too, and when she came home she would kick all of us kids (4) outside and tell us to go play in traffic. She just wanted alone time in her house. I get it. She taught us how to read before kindergarden just so that we would have a quiet, solo activity. That's my decompress activity before bed 📖🛌🏻

@YoH: 💚 I'm visiting the parents this weekend. I've stopped stressing about things until everyone drops ideas on the table. Went to yoga last night and felt immensely better. Going again tomorrow.
