Yesterday I was not entirely good. Got together with some friends to do a kind of research workshop on historical dance. My husband and I figured we would be pretty active, so we ate a normal breakfast, planned a sensible lunch with fruit and veggie snacks, and figured we could eat the potluck dinner without worrying too much. Sadly, our generous friends brought daytime snacks as well, including GORP with milk chocolate chips! I don't know how many peanuts and chocolate chips I ate, but it was a lot. And then, of course, we still ate the (modest) potluck, reasonably. If not for the GORP, I think we did fine, but then there was the GORP (Good Old Raisins & Peanuts, for the uninitiated).

I weighed unofficially yesterday at 167.6; between my monthly cycle and the GORP, I feel lucky only to be at 167.8. It sure feels good to eat "normally" occasionally, without counting every ding dang thing I consume. It's definitely worth the trouble, and the continual alertness to what I'm eating, but it's not easy.

Hopefully a good week ahead. Next weekend we are holding a party to celebrate our daughter's birthday, so I have to try to save up a bit. Good luck to us this week, and to anyone who may be reading along. We can _totally_ do this.
