This weight loss thing is really hard.. It seems like exercising and making sure to eat less fatty foods and less carbs, has not had the effect that I had hoped. I know it cannot happen over night, and being older now I realize we just don't lose weight like we used to but geeze.

The fact that you don't have a lot to lose also factors in to weight loss. The less you have to lose, the slower it may come off (age, activity level, gender, genetics and other factors play a role too). Just keep going. Life is going to happen no matter what you do. If you keep going, you will get there.
