thanks guys! i'm getting impatient because it's getting tough and slow......... so I don't eat grains or legumes, well once in a while, do you think i should stop having cheese? what about oats? any thoughts on steel cut oats? I know corn doesn't slow down my system, i'm almost scared to try the other things . . . . since baby's sleeping, i'm going to wash prep chop veggies . . .. .

Cheese is what cancer patients with diarrhea caused by chemotherapy eat. It seriously stops you up. Cottage cheese is ok because it has protein. Oats are good to lower your cholesterol. Lentils are good because it is so low calorie in a soup.

Everyone is different, I usually eat lots of legumes and grains. They fill me up with good nutrients, not high in calories or fat and I don't get hungry quickly. I eat cheese sparingly as it's high in fat.

deb I completely didn't realize lentils are low calorie; i'm going to have to look into it; usually my dairy products are cottage cheese and fage. I don't drink milk. there's some middle eastern cheese that are yogurt-ey and Ok also, but my main weakness is cheddar or muenster, which I really try to have in moderation .. . . I NEVER thought I'd be excited to be in the 150's! I'm not really, that's a lot of weight for my frame and age . ... but I'm in the final stretch!!!!! We can do it!

OMG! Huge grin on my face now. I'm delighted right along with you. The "exact science" is that you keep putting yourself first in this process. Never forget that there is no "magic bullet" in this FS journey or in anything. You did the work. You merit the results. Simple as that. No matter what happens next, remind yourself that you've loved yourself enough to hit this milestone.

One of my buddies said to try Go Veggie cheese slices, soy-based cheese, which has less fat than real cheese. I never tried them yet. Will have to find the nutrition on them and see what store carries them.

4 servings of Lentil Soup [1 c. lentils, 4 cups water, 1/2 c. chopped onion, salt, pepper & curry powder] is about 190 calories per 1 cup serving. If you add 3 c. raw chopped spinach (fiber) it would be 195 calories. Carrots, tomatoes, celery and garlic would push it to 300.
