Good Morning, FS Warriors! Seems like only 12 hours since my last journal entry. Oh wait, it was only yesterday evening. Where does the time go? Again, I woke up at 3:44 AM, one minute before the alarm was to go off. I waited. When the alarm went off, I hit the snooze and didn't get up till almost 4:30. :D Why did I set the alarm for so early? Well, I had really planned to go to bed earlier for one thing, and I don't know what the other thing is. But, anyway, I stepped out of my comfort zone, or boring zone if you will (the treadmill runs were getting awfully long) and took my run outside. I wanted to see just how much more of a beating I was going to take out on the pavement. Not bad actually. It seemed to be more of a struggle at first, and then I realized that I kept trying to run at a faster pace than I had been training on the treadmill. On the one hand, that was good, on the other, it put my heart rate well above the "easy run" zone. All in all, the
average pace worked out to the same as I had been training on the treadmill, and all is good with the world. My knees felt a little warm and tender, but that was to be expected since I felt it going up hills on the bicycle yesterday evening. I think I need to take a rest day tomorrow; perhaps a rendevous with Jillian is in order.
Down a half pound right out of bed, so I logged it, just in case I sabotage my efforts again before Friday. Oh, not me, that will never happen! :D Probably overdid it a little with a run and a bicycle ride yesterday, and then my first 30 minute run (inside
or outside) in a long time, but I think I'm going to live, Lord willing. There's always that nagging feeling that you're not doing enough on a
rest day, but in reality, the rest days are just as important as the workout days, for recovery and muscle growth. But, I will still do something.
Well, that's all I've got to say about that. Toodles!
