Back at goal! I know its because I again got through another weekend eating mostly mindfully without binging. So, that is my goal & will be my focus for the upcoming holidays, weekends & all the social events that go with them… taking each one at a time, and looking at each as another opportunity to practice the new mindful eating skills that I'm learning!
We're going in to NYC this afternoon (dinner & the Nutcracker) with a group from DH's work. I found out yesterday that his new boss is not able to go, so that takes a little of the pressure off… won't have to be so careful to say only the right things :)! At DH's prompting, I bought a new outfit, which of course, always makes me feel good too! The dress I'd gotten to wear to all the parties last Sat was all black, but after his friend's passing, I didn't want to wear it & wore what I was going to wear today instead. As I was fretting over it, DH said to just go buy something new for today… well, you don't have to tell me that twice!
I have paddle tennis this morning, then home to get ready for the event. They're forecasting snow (2-4 inches), but his company is providing our transportation, so I think we'll be all set. But before I start my day, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And, for this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite and emotion, I'll keep praying, breathing, journaling, logging & expressing my way. I'm so very grateful for each of wonderful you, my family & IRL friends, my youngest coming home on Fri, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love including what I know will be a fun filled dinner and show in the Big Apple! xoxox
