I'm cautiously recording my weight as its the morning after a fast day. For me a 1 lb drop has not been seen in quite some time, and gets me below my new goal but 1 step closer to where I'd love to be again at 120 (which hasn't felt possible lately). So, I'm not getting too excited yet, but wondering if adding IF to my WOE and finally taking that first step toward breaking my habit of overeating/binging on sugar upon returning from a trip has gotten the scale moving again. Only time will tell... one day at a time. And as I know in my heart no matter what the scale says, it's only a number & whats more important is continuing to build my road toward healthy eating & living.
I am though feeling good about this IF WOE, 5:2 style as I'm doing now with two 500 calorie days/week. On the fasting days, I can relax about what/when/how much to eat but instead focus on staying busy & they really have not been tough to do. And knowing that I then have more calories to play with if wanted on the non-fast days, helps me relax then too, especially over the weekends & when traveling which have been the more difficult times for me.
My outdoor paddle tennis season begins today, so I'm off to play later this morning. Paddle is an outdoor winter sport, but today, here in the northeast, its forecasted to go up to 70 degrees... no complaints here. My only complaint about paddle is playing in freezing and/or windy conditions. I took it up 3 years ago, so of course, I also complain that I'm just not getting it quick enough!
But before I begin my day, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And throughout this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm grateful today for each of you, my family & IRL friends, great weather again in the northeast and having the health & wealth to live this life I love (including playing paddle tennis no matter how slow I am at getting the sport)! xoxox
