Was hoping for more of a weight drop, but it has only been a week and a half of experimenting in the IF lab, and that includes 2 weekends of (much) less than perfect eating. 1/2 pound loss is better than the slow gaining I'd been fighting.
The 2nd fast day yesterday went surprisingly well again. I felt some hunger last night & had difficulty falling asleep which is rare for me. Usually I fall right asleep but its the staying asleep thats the problem. Of course, all is noted in my lab report :)! Now the key is to eat healthy while staying in a 1500-2000 range daily. My plan is to stay at the lower end through the week & allow myself to venture up over the weekend. It's my 25th wedding anniversary next Tues & DH and I are going into NYC overnight Sat night -- dinner & a show -- so I'm sure I'll be in that upper range without even trying.
Today I'm off to spin & golf camp and a much needed haircut & color this afternoon. Maybe I'll even squeeze in some work too?!? SIL & I have gotten much of the neglected paperwork caught up, but of course, there's always more than can be done!
But before I begin my day, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And through this one day and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, post & express my way. I'm grateful for each of wonderful you, my family & IRL friends, another day of beautiful weather in the northeast and having the health & wealth to live this life I love. xoxox

Yay for the loss. Lots of hard work involved to get it. It is hard to stay on track when you are going away. Part of the reason I am not looking forward to leaving today as much as I normally would. Your trip to NYC will be fun. I love NY...What area are you from? Just curious when you said NYC overnight.. I am from Buffalo..just moved here not even 2 years ago..

Cathy, I live in Fairfield, CT but am from Cincinnati, OH originally. We've been here 17 years now so it feels like home, although I left Cincy kicking & screaming... Well really sobbing! But now I love it here & since my DH is from CT, we have my MIL & BILs nearby (but not too nearby!). I do love going into NYC -- it's a little over an hour on the train. Bren, hope you make that trip to the Big Apple soon, it is such a fun, exciting place... And we could meet up :)! Xoxox

Happy Anniversary!! that is indeed an accomplishment these days! I am the same; I can fall asleep but if I'm hungry I won't stay that way. I actually saw a news story the other day wherein the advice was a 200 cal snack before bed is healthy (as long as it's not processed sugar or anything spicy) and helps stave off sleeplessness. I know I do sleep better when I have a yogurt and apple at bedtime; I just have to remember to leave room in my day for that. Last night I had two cake balls though... oh well, DH only turns 65 once, right?

Yes, Angel, 65 is a milestone worthy of at least 2 cake balls! Xoxox
