After feeling so good for days, I am better able to tell which foods do not agree with me. I ate nonfat frozen yogurt for lunch yesterday. Then last night, I felt bloated and dizzy. We agreed that we would allow ourselves a treat only on weekends, and on a hot day like yesterday, frozen yogurt sounded really good. I should've gone with the sugar-free, lactose-free flavor. Hubby loves the nonfat chocolate and it makes him so happy, I'd hate for him to start feeling deprived.
What is up with all these frozen yogurt places? I bet 4 different stores have popped up in town over the last 6 months. My daughter says she loves Pinkberry in California, but we don't have one of those yet.
The turkey bacon may have been another culprit, one of those food-like substances I need to cut from the menu. I don't know if there is a healthy substitute for bacon. I'll miss it!
Hubby also put a whole chicken in the pressure cooker last night, and it did not turn out well. It was edible, but pretty rubbery and tough. So... the cooker is great for beans, not so great for meat.
So, I'm at the point now where I can associate feeling bad directly with eating sugar and dairy, and I hate feeling bad. That should help me summon up the resolve to say NO to those things.
Notes: 9:30am Ate breakfast of hot fruit and oatmeal with flax seed. 2 cups green tea. 11:30am Feel energetic, focused, happy, ready to tackle the day.
2:00p Wow, crash and burn. Was busy cleaning and overlooked lunchtime until I got hungry. Then I got a little lightheaded, fatigued and irritable. Had a 500 calorie lunch with no dairy. The wrap bread was probably sweetened with a little honey.
2:50p Much better having eaten lunch.
