My hubby made his version of the cannellini recipe was saw on PBS and it was delicious. He substituted chard for the broccoli rabe, which isn't in season. Added a little pancetta and red onion sauteed in rosemary and olive oil. Then simmered the beans and all in a little chicken broth. The only downside is bean bloat today.
I'm really bummed that cherries seem to be out of season now. Can't find 'em. Yesterday I ate more peaches and oranges than I should have.
5:35pm Went to Whole Foods and hallelujah! They got in another shipment of fresh cherries. So we scored 3 bags. Gonna try to freeze a few and see how they do.
Just got back from the dog walk. Dang it's hot. I've been so sleepy all day I can barely function. Literally falling asleep in my chair sitting up. Can't stop yawning. I got 8 hrs last night. Even had a cat nap this afternoon and I'm still nearly comatose.
11:00pm Now I'm wide awake. We got some Nordic Omega 3-6-9 fish oil pills and took one tonight. I'm curious to see if that will help my energy level.
One last note: Hubby and I were at the mall this evening. It's been a long time since we were there. When you've given up junk food, you become so much more aware of how pervasive it is. It's shocking actually. They even had a CANDY BUFFET kiosk. You just grab the tongs and pick out all the sugary crap from the bin and I guess they weigh it. (Sort of like the frozen yogurt craze, except without a shred of anything nutritious.) Cinna-buns and Haagen Dazs and giant pretzels... good God, it's no wonder we're the fattest nation on earth.

That sounds wonderful! You are right about the cherries. Season over at least here. Apricots just ended and well into to peach season. YUM! I so love the fruits and berries of the season as well as all of the wonderful vegies. Love it, love it, love it!!!

If you overindulged a little on fruit, it's a lot better than overindulging on Ben and Jerry's. Your dinner sounds delicious.
