I can't believe it's such a struggle for me this time around. Old age really does make some things harder :(

Fat Secret suggests I eat about 1200 calories a day and I'll lose a pound a week but I only maintain at that number of calories. I'm a 70-year old short woman and need far fewer calories than when I was younger so I try to stay around 1000 calories. I make sure to eat plenty of protein at every meal (sardines, salmon, nuts, Greek yogurt) and lots of filling low-calorie, plain veggies. I eat carbs in moderation (porridge, one piece of bread, beans, an orange). I think you might trim a couple of hundred calories from your current intake and I'll bet you'll drop a bit faster. Can you tweak your diet by reducing empty calories at first? Things like alcohol, jam, cream and salad dressing could be dropped gradually. Try weighing things on a kitchen scale to give you a better idea of how may calories you're getting. I weigh nuts and seeds and am shocked at how high the calorie-count is for such a tiny serving. I aim for a 10-gram serving.

I have been like that my whole life. Kill myself at the gym and stay at 1200 calories. I did not have much faith that I would do well this time because of low exercise. figured I would lose 20 or so but decided to try anyway. I started to research diets while I was getting rid of sugar and flours/processed foods. I came across low carb/ high fat and intermittent fasting and that was a huge game changer for me. Never have I ever lost so much weight period. It might not be as fast as some but that's ok I am not competing in a race here. I really just make sure I am consistent with what I do and weigh and measure everything. Sounds like work and it is, but after a while it just becomes second nature. My goal every month is to lose 4 pounds and I think I have pretty much doubled that. So although this is working for me, I still have my moments that I think "gee this seems to be taking a long time" lol But I really don't sweat it. I am letting my body do what it wants to do. I am hoping that my doctor will clear me soon for lifting weights and some cardio. Hang in there (I know easier said then done) :-)
