MJ's mom's Journal, 03 March 2008

Well this is my worst weight in since I started. I find it tougher and tougher to lose weight. I guess for several reasons. One is because I am skinnier my body needs less calories in general so its tougher to lose weight. Two because my daughter is partially weaned. She only nurses 3 times a day (down from a whole bunch when I first started on this diet). So really Im not getting those 'bonus' calories being burnt. Three, Im definatly cheating ALOT more then I used to. Even cheating with going out for suppers and eating the right choices, but they contain way to much salt and perhaps some hidden calories. I also think Im consuming more then Im counting. I tend to eat a few bits of this and that when Im feeding my daughter. Now I only feed her healthy stuff with no added fats, but everything has calories!

So to get back on track I am going to:
1.NOT snack of my fiance and daughter. Those calories count as well so Ill have to not indulge.
2.Not going out for supper or over to someone elses house for supper untill I reach my goal weight. No hidden calories.
3.Keep up with the water. I was having a tough time drinking all my H2O but Im getting back on track with thats.
4. No more diet drinks. I think drinking that 'coke zero' actually makes me crave other crap. It not great for my body and there is no benefit. I think its going to be a gate way for me eating other crap.


So now that I have a game plan I hope I can hold myself accountable and get back on track!

Although I have to be a little positive because any weight loss is a good weight loss :)
134.8 lb Lost so far: 35.2 lb.    Still to go: 134.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

you're doing great MJ. sounds like you've got a plan, now you just need to stick with it. I have a hard time drinking plain h2o... so I drink 4C diet iced tea.. has splenda... but i'm able to get my fluids in for the day. don't stress over those last 4.8lbs! look how far you've come... and at least you're realizing the recent changes that counteracted your weight loss..and now you can try and do something about it. keep up the great work!

Yes Nestea single packets are sweetened with splenda too. I find them easier on my system than aspartame. They say aparantly that all those artificial sweeteners actually make you eat more, they tried it on mice and that's what it did. Doesn't mean to give them up entirely, all that sugar isn't good for you. But you are doing great and it's good to see that you've set yourself up with a plan.

I am thinking of changing over to stevia and agave once I have depleted all my splenda. Will still drink a diet soday once in a while though. I do love those green tea flavor enhancers for water but they are artificially sweetened as well. So I guess I will lay off those as well.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I totally think that coke zero makes me eat, especially at night. I dont know what it is but I start snacking like crazy! Im really goona stick to my plan and get those darn last 5lbs! And then stabilizatoin here I come!
