Ideal Weight's Journal, 29 March 2017

I've been having such a hard time with my calorie intake. Friday and Saturday were mostly alcohol more than eating poorly, but regardless it put me over. Then Sunday I started in on the junk food, and I've been on a downward spiral ever since. I've had a serious case of the munchies and I've been wanting to eat everything sweet I can get my hands on.

And today, though I've still got about 300 calories left to at least be within my RDI, I've eaten complete crap with the calories I've used so far. I feel sluggish, I haven't been sleeping well and I'm completely unfocused.

Cross your fingers for me to finish out the day within and be back on track.

Look at what you are eating! Does any of it have corn syrup in it? That is a favorite food of candide one of the flora in your digestive tract and once you feed it, it becomes a monster! Get yourself to a pharmacy and get a probiotic that has at least 10billion active little biological suckers in them and have them according to the schedule on the package. The best way to calm down candide and keep it from out producing all the others that you need to digest your food is to make sure all the others are there and healthy. And mo, yogurt won't do it. The more sugar you feed it and the more corn syrup which is WAY sweeter than sugar the more it will be stronger than other gut bacteria that are just as important. The overgrowth of this one can cause some serious not feeling good side effects. 😴Our bodies are really well designed for natural food, not this man made stuff we keep confusing them with. 🙃

I thought "Candide" was a French satire by Voltaire. Huh. Learned something new.

You're right poofwizard! My fingers and old lady brain got away from me! I misstated! Candida is the culprit and can make you continue to crave craptastic amounts of sweet stuff to feed it. Thanks for the gentle correction.

Candide IS a satire by Voltaire! And candida is a fungus commonly found in your gut flora but which can overgrow and cause problems for some folks...

I'm sure you know that (and were borrowing some of that satire, Poofwizard) but I added that for folks who aren't familiar with candida. I have a friend who suffers greatly with it.
