I paid no attention and forgot that hummus is high carb. I was thinking high fiber. Rats. I just plain forgot. No carbs for dinner.

Lovely too 😖 No comparison on protein content but have you tried roasting aubergine (eggplant) whole - pierce the skin so they don't explode - then blend with some garlic, olive oil and a little water. Wonderful dip. Usually I put slits into them then slide in slices of garlic before roasting so there's no bitterness from raw garlic. A wonderful dip and nice as a salsa with chicken or fish as well

I hear you. I made some homemade hummus and it's in the freezer cause it's just too high in carbs. Maybe after I drop a little more I'll partake. :-)

Look for Baba Ganoush recipe. It is a Middle Eastern eggplant recipe. I use it instead of hummus. Harris Teeter does sell it.

Oh that sounds so good! This reminds me of the dip my Ukrainian mother used to make, poor man's caviar. I used to love it and had forgotten all about it! Thank you for the ideas!
