So over the weekend I had to go home for a funeral. I decided to do an experiment to prove to my wife (she is finally on board with LCHF by the way) what happens when you eat carbs. For the whole weekend we ate like we normally would when we travel. Fast food, pizza, muffins, homemade cookies, etc. After 3 days of this I weighed myself in. I had gained 8 pounds, and she had gained 6! I was amazed at how fast it came back. Now, three days after being back and eating a strict LCHF (no more than 20 carbs) I have lost 5 pounds of it. I was truly amazed at how fast I gained, but also how fast I lost. Now if I can only keep the momentum going on the loss side that would be awesome. I know it won't, but I'll be happy to return to my two pounds per week loss.

I had same experience (I am not on LCHF now). I don't recall exact numbers but I did research at that time - you store about 1.5 lb of glycogen which you deplete after a few days on LCHF plus glycogen retains water at 1 to 3 or 4 ratio, hence sudden weigh loss on Atkins or sudden gain like the one you experienced.

Oh yeah. My stomaches was messed up for a day and a half.
