New Year, new ideas.

New Years Eve was fun. I had a couple of drinks, but I brought my own mixers and liquor the party. Diet soda, as always. I was able to pour my own drinks (it was a casual get together of friends), so I monitored my intake. I did have a few more glasses of champagne than I normally would have had, but all in all I had a good time. OH I almost forgot the spread. There was so much food, none of it good for you. But amidst the chips, pretzels, mini hotdogs, and sour cream laden dips, there was a vegetable platter. I attacked the carrots and broccoli. So I wasn't too tempted to eat the bad stuff.

On New Years Day, I told myself, that it's still a holiday, I'm going to not agonize about every little thing that I put in my mouth. Boyfriend and I went out to dinner, just to a little diner in town, and I got a grilled chicken sandwich. There was more on it, but I'm ashamed to say. I did eat almost all of my french fries. I haven't had them in so long, that I couldn't stop myself.

Exercising wasn't in the picture, too much. But on Sunday, I decided that I was ready to exercise as I hadn't in about 4 days. I set the Wii Fit up, and was ready for the worst.

Why is it when you aren't trying, you always matter to lose like 2 pounds?!? But when you are killing yourself, watching EVERY calorie you digest, exercising like a crazy person, and all around becoming neurotic about losing weight, absolutely nothing happens? It's extremely frustrating. At least I lost though. And I will hopefull continue.

I got Wii Fit Plus this weekend, so I'm exciting about using that. These games seem a bit more challenging, which is going to be fun. I can only do Super Hula Hoop so often. But I'm excited to see what the New Year holds for me in the terms of weight loss.

I have already managed to meet (sort of) my first goal. It took me 3 extra days, but I'm down 16 lbs from where I started. I think that's the most weight I've ever lost. Usually, I give up. Most days, I feel like it, but I haven't. That's what counts.

Next, is set a new goal. 15 lbs on of before 3/29. That is my and Joe's 2 year anniversary. We have it all planned out already. Both of being HUGE Yankees fans, we are going to go to NYY Steak for dinner. A wonderful steakhouse INSIDE Yankee Stadium. I've been looking forward to this for a while. Hopefully I'll be where I'm hoping I'll be weightwise when we go.

On that note (yes I am salivating), I hope everyone's New Year is happy and healthy. And that your goals, whether old, new, or revamped are reached :)

Hey, at least you showed some restraint on New Years with the alcohol and party food. I wish I could have done the same, unfortunately! I think I gobbled up a whole cheeseball almost by myself. Yikes! lol

there was this dip in a bread bowl that was next to me the whole night. I ate it. The fact that the bowl was bread, it was indistinguishable as a bowl.

Mmm...I love steak. Hehe. I think you lose when you have a high calorie day because your metabolism is revved up. Your body gets used to low days all the time and then when you attack it with a bunch of food, it tries to catch up by burning it, so you're usually still on high burn more the next low day, causing the loss. Either that or you were dehydrated by the alcohol. ; ) Just kidding. Good job on the loss!!! xoxoxo.
