OMGosh I am so tired of seeing people yell at other people on this site and telling them what to say and do. I think I am going to just stick with my fitbit site from now on.

Hide your profile and choose your friends. This site has been the best thing in the world for me. And we only get irritated if we let it. Good luck!!! Never give up!

A Pathetic Fatty???? your not Pathetic and not a fatty. Your not pathetic because you are here and trying to change your life. And your not a fatty. Your just a woman who has more fuel in the tank than you need to run your engine. I know your most likely referring to me and my extreme nature in how I talk. For this I apologize. But I do it because Im sick of people failing and getting worse. I don't mean to be an a$$hole. I truly don't. But people are just as willfull in their ignorance as I am in my strong headedness.

You may miss out on some great support by quitting this site. I am one of the heathens who do not fast and who enjoys her carbs. I have gotten quite good at ignoring those who preach that their way is the best. In the end, we all have to find a way to be healthy that we can live with, that suits us. To each his own, as my Mom always said. There is a lot of good on this site. Just let the rest roll off you.

EDC1972, you have my full support and I don't want you to go. You can do this. You can eat the stuff you like and lose weight.

Yea, I totally get where you're coming from! I rarely "speak" anymore and do my best to scroll past the bickering. I try to be open minded and have learned alot from many people doing lots of different WOE. I DO miss some of the "regulars" that have fallen off (probably for the same reasons you mention)....

My son used to work at Google. They only have one rule there: it's called the 'no asshole' rule. Otherwise, we used to call it the golden rule. You know: " do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Or don't criticize, pick on, or be mean to any one. In my classroom we call it the one rule with two words: Be Kind. There's no reason that a group of reasonable adults here can't conduct ourselves by these very universal rules of civility and tolerance, eh?

EDC back off some....if it was the monk that you are talking about he means no harm...yes he comes on strong but that is his personality and he has been very successful at weight loss. just cut him some slack cause she is over joyed with his new found freedom of weight loss...and move on down the page if it will help you. He loves every body here and i mean that....he really does.

Stay. I just had a red stripe beer after busting it on the treadmill. I don't want them to go flat in my fridge. I had a beer at mile 10 of 13.1 last month during a half marathon. If I can lose weight, anyone can.

@knuckles: I know that you are motivated by wanting everyone to succeed. That is so admirable! But we all fail sometimes, and we all have a learning curve. We all go through phases of discovery and preference. You'll be less frustrated with the rest of us if you "let it be' a little more often. You speak a wonderful truth based on your own experience and success. This gets a lot of respect. No need to use a sledge hammer to get your point across; we hear you, big guy! :)

I've always said that diet is as much religion as religion. The idea that someone may have a different view than you seems to be a given. Oddly, I've tried nearly all of the, except keto, which to me is simply too hard. The others work. Why would I bother forcing myself to do something I've tried and I simply do not like?

I should also say, who cares that it works best for them. Do what works best for you. Find your people here. Ignore the others when necessary. A simple non response can work best.

Don't let it get under your skin...come, log your diet, follow you weight graph and ignore the bickering. I love so much about this site, I shrug the rest off. I'm an old bird and won't be manipulated by anyone...nor will I be run off!! Hope you stick around ;)

I so agree EDC. Just encourage people for what they are doing, don't tell them what they think is the only tried and true method. Everyone's journey is their journey and we are here for support, not judgment on how we chose to lose weight. Don't let anyone boss you around, be YOU! :)
