warrenwinter's Journal, 05 June 2016

A happy Sunday to our community! A bit of a conundrum as to how to approach this cancer situation. Too many conflicting studies and messages from others. I would like to wait, but there is no clear sign coming from anyone as to what is best. I almost feel my knee is in a similar holding pattern. Hoping to not feel guilt from lack of working out, but guilt is my main motivation in life, it seems. Have a great day!

Thanks Dollbaby, you are a beautiful lady! lol You sound like we share the same boat, knee and cancer. Glad you are beating the cancer! Great for you there. My knee is suspect, but I actually run on it, even though I shouldn't. lol

Lovely pics - thank you for posting! I wish you the very best in figuring out which course of treatment you want to take for your cancer. Do the doctors leave it up to the patient to decide because even they can't be certain which is the best course to take? Or is it to allow the patient to decide which "side effects" are most tolerable? If you could know whether the projected outcomes are about the same would it be easier to decide? At any rate, I hope you feel comfortable and certain about your choice once you are well-informed about your options.

Trackin, it is like you are in my mind. EXACTLY! They don't know what to do either. I have been reading a lot that says about "over diagnose", in other words, people hear that CANCER word, and they are ready to have the prostate extracted. I like this thing between my legs, and I don't want troubles with it. lol

The more research/opinions, the better!! I know how you feel...was just told I most likely have Multiple Myeloma...going to Oncologist on Tuesday... I'm not a candidate for a bone marrow transplant, so not sure what we are going to do...just take it one day at a time, and research as much as possible!!

Warren, I had a friend who had 4 sisters and they were all diagnosed with breast cancer, two of them opted for immediate mastectomys, traditional chemo and radiation therapy. Both were dead within two years, the third one refused all treatments and was gone inside of 1 year. The fourth sister refused surgery, had intensive radiation and then went with a holistic doctor who put her on a strict and extreme dietary regime, it's been 10 years and she is still cancer free. Who can say which option is the right one, who knows what set of variables made different outcomes from the same genetic stock. Many doctors won't mention many of the non-traditional treatments that are successful because they pre-judge most patients and they automatically assume that the average person does not have the discipline and drive necessary to facilitate that type of treatment. As for me, I'd be fighting for my life, I would find the discipline and drive to do whatever it took to return to health. But you are correct, I get it!

Hey good luck with all of it. There are many on here that have had bouts with cancer. They are making some strides, I think. I was even watching on 60 Minutes about breakthroughs in brain tumors and cancer. I wish you all the best!

Wow, that is some insight there, Debra. Funny, my wife is a nurse, and she was getting upset, and kept on asking, "What did the doctor suggest?" I told her he suggested many things. Doing nothing was one of the options. She can really drive me nuts! lol

Such beautiful pics! So serene. I'd love to be at either spot. Good thing our minds don't have to be confined to our current surroundings or situations when we choose to pull away and drift off into a different reality like one of the pics. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, but I'm glad to see you in good spirits. The answer will speak to you, just listen. Sending you many positive vibes & lots of (((hugs))).

Hey folks, read the Nutrition link I posted! It is a validation of avocados and nuts. This is going to be WAY MORE INFORMATION, TMI to the MAX, than you want to know about me, but I used to have some ED issues,( which is on every ad on TV these days), not anymore, and it must be something in the food, but I got horns coming out of my forehead now. lol

Hahahahaha! Warren, you are so funny with the horns coming out of your head! Getting a second opinion is definitely the way to go. And those pictures are AMAZING!

Thanks Pokey! You will be given free tickets to my next standup act! lol

I can see you with those horns you little devil! LOL! Don't let anything steal your joy!

You'll get tickets, too!

Warren, glad to hear you say you'll get second opinions. I do know with some certainty that the horn problem is a result of the avocados. Didn't you notice the bumps on the skin? Hope your wife is enjoying the avocados with you too. Is it possible that Eve offered Adam an Avocado not the proverbial Apple? 👹

That's good, Sarah, Ha Ha! I think it is actually a combo of Avocados, Chia Seeds, Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds, and Pistachios, and maybe Coconut Oil. I like the Adam and Eve reference. Reminds me of those Adam and Eve adult toys. lol
