Hey guys, did another planned carb-spike during my 4 hour eating window, this time around I added more fruit and some no sugar added ice-cream. Managed to get my total carbs over 100 this time around, still stayed under my calorie limit, it's been one week since my last one. Last time around I used my good carbs and I only managed to get my carbs up to the 80s, went and looked for something sweet to use so I broke my rule of no processed foods. Still left out the grains though. I want to give this a real effort and analyze the results, last week I dropped one pound but like I said, I used healthy carbs and I don't know if the spike was actually enough of a spike, so once again, we shall see. Hopefully I don't have a binge fallout from the ice-cream and extremely sweet cantaloupe, my body is not accustomed to that amount of sugar anymore. It's been 4 hours since my eating window closed and I don't have the urge to munch...I am very thirsty though, been drinking a lot of water. Ya'll have a good night!

We actually do not build muscle as easily as people believe - and if you do, you will burn more calories sitting around with the extra muscle tissue - metabolic boost. It should all be good.

Oh, muscle burns fat, too!

ahhh see that's why I muse here, I never looked at it from that angle, just thinking that muscle is heavier than fat, so if I lose two pounds of fat and gain one pound of muscle it would show as a reduced level of loss. But yeah, the more muscle I have, the more fat I will burn just eating, sleeping and breathing. Good point!

One pound of muscle is the same as one pound of fat - muscle is more dense and takes up less space so you lose inches and appear smaller.

BTW, no urge to binge, we used the morning to fill old stump holes in the big pasture, used two truckloads of dirt....lots of shovel work, came in several times to cool down and hydrate and chat with you guys. Now I've eaten my dinner salad and I'm full and satisfied. The Moos brothers are now installed into the big very grassy pasture and now we only have one more 5 acre fence to finish YAY, but even with all the activity, no unusual hunger, no cravings......other than water and that may be because we were sweating like pigs.....why do people say that...pigs have very few sweat glands, they don't use those to regulate body temperature. LOL

You know, Debra ... with all the work you do around the farm and heavy lifting, do you really think you need to exercise? You already get more exercise than any female I know ... and that includes the ones that go to the gym and work out. LOL! I think watching your food intake is your most important plan. Changing things up for a week or two, then back to what you were doing. Keep the body guessing my change the set point. My metabolism is seriously damaged and I am trying everything.

LOL! Thanks Mom! Yes, I believe some steady strengthening and toning exercises are in order, and I feel like moving more even with the work I do on the farm. Gotta burn off this excess energy somehow. Trying to follow what feels right and at the end of the day I'm not tired, sooo the dumbbell workout is taking care of the leftover energy nicely, plus my arms are gaining some strength and shape :) Win win! I can now take the two 10 pounders and hold them horizontally out from my body at shoulder height for one minute before the shakes set in, when I started it was like 10 seconds, my goal is three minutes before I up my weights.

That is awesome! I have 2 lb weights that I was working with. LMAO!!

Mom, 2 lbs weights are a good place to start, I had two pound medicine balls that I started off with and when they got easy, I got the 10 pounders. Try holding the 2 lb weights out from your body at shoulder height for a few minutes and see how long you can hold them, that's a good indicator of your strength and stamina
