Diea's Journal, 28 March 2016

The ban on snacking after 8 pm was a good run. It took a break last night when I had a bowl of tortilla chips. Tonight I had 2 left over bags of chips, probably 3 bowls total. I need to get back in control! I know that I am able to.

I'm trying to figure out how to get back on track when I really don't want to. I know what works. I know what's healthy. I know my stuff, I do. I just need to get into action.

I feel like I am using my school and the stress I am under as an excuse to not be healthy. I don't have time for it, I tell myself. I'm tired of the excuses I make for myself. I will get back on track. I don't have to wait to graduate to eat healthier. Maybe it can't be completely healthy, but I need to stop it with the fries and the ice cream and the morning sugary carbs. I can do better.

Years later after starting this journey, i say:

I am learning to love my body.

I never feel awesome but when I eat tons of junk I feel and look pretty bad. Maybe remembering how good you felt following a healthy routine will get you in gear. Find your motivation and get going.

"If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will make excuses." THIS is what I tell myself every day. Maybe it can work for you?

Thank you, HCB! I'm a little scared of that logic because what if I start convincing myself that it's not all that important to be healthy... Sigh!

I could have written this post, minus the school part! Dieting sucks, I sometimes wish it was like the South Pacific where big girls are looked upon like treasures. It's rough, but the nothing past 8pm, NP8 strategy is good! Let's do this thing, let's get back on track! I say "let's" since I am feeling the exact way as you do!

Keep reminding yourself of why you started on your journey. It also helps to have concrete goals that you can look to that are important to you. That way you can ask what is more important, an instant of gratification or your long term goal.
