This is not medical advice. Please consult with a doctor or a nutritionist to find the plan that will work for you.

I just wanted to share some words of encouragement for those struggling to shed a few pounds. From January 21 to November 1, I have lost 115 pounds (52 kg). I made one radical change in my diet. I do not consume any sugar or carbohydrates. The macros included in this screenshot show that the majority of my diet consists of fats (75%) and protein (25%). After about 3 weeks, the body fat began to melt away. I do not have a calorie goal, but I'm consuming about 2300-2500 calories per day. I use an app to track my macros.

I only eat between the hours of 7 am to 5 pm. I do not consume any refined or overly processed foods. I only eat foods as close to their natural forms as possible. You can't have cheat days. If you do, you'll disrupt the fat-burning mechanism, and you'll have to wait several days before your body begins using fat again as its energy source.

I do not engage in any cardio. I lift weights for 30 minutes per day, 4 to 5 days a week. The weight lifting is necessary to help the skin reincorporate into the body. I focus on working the core of the body.

That's it. Eliminating sugar and carbs was the key. I hope this information is useful for those on this journey.

@TheUnhealthyDaddy - Blood glucose levels are lower and within range. Cholesterol is elevated a bit that is to be expected with a high fat diet. It's not a concern because this is a temporary situation. There is no need to take a statin drugs to lower the cholesterol. Liver is functioning properly and is not stressed in its function of breaking down the fats into energy and cholesterol. Kidneys are functioning properly. Arteries are open (very little plaque) based on vascular ultrasound. Heart is functioning properly based on a echocardiogram.

What food have just fat and protein? I think that would be the fix for me. I notice on my days of higher fat and protein my glucose levels are spot on..

@Becca - For instance, this week I have consumed bacon, various cheeses, eggs, omelets (eggs, tomatoes, spinach, onions, peppers, and cheese), steaks, various sausages, avocados, fried pork skins, grilled salmon, chicken wings (they contain more fat than a breast), beef jerky (contain a few carbs because sugar is used in processing).

Why do you not track any of your foods or activities on this app? It would be nice to see the implementation of those actions and your progress?? But in any case, very well done on the success!

You look amazing! I eat around 100-150g fat and 170-200g protein daily. My daily goal is max 140g carbs. Most days I av 80g carbs. I eat mostly whole fresh foods and have eliminated sugar as well. I cook most meals. I still have a few processed foods like my low carb wraps and processed chomps jerky sticks but have cut out A LOT of processed foods compared to what I used to.

@Bandrai - The doctor advised me on two things. If you stick to the plan, you don't have to worry about every little item you eat. People get all tied up in tracking everything they consume. The key is to focus on a lifestyle change and not to micromanage your life. The second think he told me was to stay off the scales. I only weight myself once per month. Again, some people freak out because they gained 0.5 pounds. That is self-defeating. My weight loss is slowing down but my body is still shrinking. I've lost 18 inches from my waist.
