Popped up in my FB Memories today....twelve years ago! 9 finally got it right after many starts & stops.

Sherry is the accountability over these years what has kept you on track? Ive always kept a food/exercise journal (book form) when i was losing weight but never anything as comprehensive as fatsecret. Im thinking if i continue to use daily my weight should never get so out of hand again (forsaking medicine/medical events).

Let's be clear, I first used the app in 2011. I lost weight, met my goal & eventually stopped logging. Over the years I repeated this several times. I have always weighed myself regularly & if I got to a certain weight I wasn't happy with I'd start logging again to try & lose. I was always private & never participated in the social aspect. July 2019, once again I decided I had to lose. This was the first time I interacted with others. I think that made a difference, especially going into 2020 & Covid hit. This time I have continued to log except for short periods, like vacations.

I have kept the weight off & actually gotten to the lowest weight I've been in over 12 years. My interaction with others motivated me to join the Gym & start strength training. It's been very gratifying to acheive my goal & be able to maintain it for an extended time. I now consider my FS buddies real friends 😁

YOH, I think if you make staying healthy a priority & put it at the forefront you can indeed maintain your loss. That's where I went wrong, before. I got lazy. I think we can indeed live a fun, full life & still be healthy.

That is something I’ve noticed. Reading some of the inspirational posts of others seems to motivate me to push myself when I dont feel like it. I think it was yesterday i said to someone i need to go out for my walk now. Well, now i had to because i put it out there. That kind of thing right? Also, so many great ideas for healthy food from folks here and i enjoy looking at the food that i know i cant eat right now but fun to look at. I especially enjoy your food pics💕
