Jonathan Walsh's Journal, 10 June 2015

Welcome to Wednesday gang!! Still trying to get back in my routine today, so bear with me. Going to go tour the nuclear power site, Plant Vogtle today. Very excited to see that on the inside. I love to learn new things about how things function.

Well, I'm still adjusting to Forrest Gump week at my house; "Life is like a box a of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get." So my message would be roll with the changes this week gang.

Whatever curve-ball comes your way, at least be willing to swing at it instead of ducking out of the way. Just like Red & Michael have been fluid with the plan to join the Navy & are now incorporating the educational aspect, take what you're given & run with it.

Make the most of your climb, but know that it's not always about you all the time. I have to admit, I didn't know how I was going to handle my situation at first when my wife asked me. I just settled for, "this is something that has to be done."

But after all the hard work was over & a kid you don't really know climbs in your lap, & tells you he loves his new room & dogs. Well, you're going cry. You never realize how fortunate you are until it kicks you in the face. I grew up very poor, with very little resources; but I was a Rothschild compared to these kids. Perspective, I thought I had it; NOW I KNOW I GOT IT!!!

You don't know, until you know. So climb gang, climb. We are fortunate beyond our knowledge. I am fighting this fight due to consuming too much food, when I now find myself now sharing a table with people who are simply just relieved to be sharing my food.

This climb I thought was so hard, ain't really what I thought it to be. There are much worse mountains out there people are climbing. I think it will be much easier for me from this point. From my new perspective.

Good climbing & God speed to you.

Midnightoil mentioned karma yesterday and I think it has just come around to give you a big hug for opening your heart and your home to these folks. I hope I will be able to live up to your example of generosity and caring. Perhaps your karmic reward is to ease the struggle with food. Wouldn't that be nice. :)
