The Dr.'s speak as if they be the highest authority concerning the strength and wellness of your body. They give wise council but definitely do not have the final say. Your motivation to get well comes from a honest place. You have more vested than a Dr. His would be his income, your, your life.

Just one thought having worked around docs, it is time rather than money. They are pushed very hard by medical insurance and institutions to do more in less time. Your point is very valid as this is our life. No one ever is invested in ourcomes as ourselves.

Yeah I do agree, a lot to do but not a lot of time. Unfortunately, unless you have a doc that's been with you for twenty or so years and great health insurance, it becomes plug and play, do as I say. And all though that works for some, it doesn't for all. The more time your doctor has spent with you the more complete a profile he/she has to use during diagnosis and treatment. Enough to know if diet and exercise will do the trick because your family history and your own self discipline indicate that's a better starting point than rushing into a medicine cabinet full of meds. Please don't misunderstand me I have the utmost respect for the knowledge and capabilities of most physicians. But if you don't have the above two things going for you, you may need to do more on your own.

I completely understand your point as no one in my family has health issues/died from typical things. I confuse the heck out of doctors as they will say “it couldn’t possible be that”, months go by finally get testing and very rare thing (two of which very directly effect my diet). I have finally gotten a written outline history book that I just hand a new doc so they can skim it quickly. With doctor’s limited time span if you aren’t very directed in what you say it may not even be heard. As to nutrition, most doctors are never trained in this. Yep we have to figure out our best path and adapt as info changes and with shifts in our bodies. Here’s to getting it right 🎉
