I know I have mentioned my wonderful East Indian (by way of Kenya, South Africa) next door neighbors many times and how they are always bringing me the most incredible foods to try that they have either made or brought home from some wonderful restaurant. So last night it was these. The round shell is a pie dough of some type, baked rock hard. You cannot bite into it but if you cut it in half with a knife you can eat the shell easily. The center Is this soft, rich, sweet, spicy hot concoction that is pretty incredible. Sesame seeds in it and she mentioned a chutney. Of some sort. But they will never tell me a recipe or what restaurant it comes from. They always say to just let them know what I want and they will buy it for me. So now I do, but not often. Last week was another delicious concoction that they brought a whole restaurant serving of home for me. It’s just me most of the time and I can’t eat all this stuff fast enough. I don’t even know if this is suppose to be a savory dish or a dessert. Could work for both. If anyone knows what it is called let me know.
