! year+ I have not lost any thing-- No one to blame but me. Depression & COVID have held me captive! BUT now I must do something. I cannot walk far without feeling like I am gasping for breath. My knees and right hip are in pain more than I care to admit. When my knee pain wakes me up at night - it really is time to do something- and that is lose the weight. I have to be honest and confront my hubby. Who has the very best intentions when he buys me the goodies and sweets. But I can not continue to do this any more.. I am slowly killing myself with a fork and food.
Contacted the local gym to see if they are still accepting Silver Sneakers members. MUST DO THIS AND DO IT NOW ----NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

You might try a consult with a dietitian. That is how I got started. I went on a very strict two week anti-inflammatory diet. Shed some weight quickly and the aches and pains started to subside. Fifty pounds lighter after nine months. Keeping up with a gluten-free/dairy free diet, for the most part. I don't deprive myself and incorporate yoga, calisthenics, bike riding, cardio, weight (not everything, everyday but I stay active). Very few flareups of the osteoarthritis I have. Lots more energy and self-esteem. The world can suffer through this pandemic but I can do something positive for myself.

I just joined today. My knees and legs hurt so bad this summer. I am waiting approval of my insurance to see if my orthopedic dr. can give me a gel shot in my knees. This may help you feel better as you exercise. I am trying to do some exercise for my knees from a video a friend told me about called Egoscue exercises. My dr. also told me to cut what I have been eating in half so I take in less calories. I hope this helps you. Never give up! Just change strategies!

Definitely ask your husband to stop bringing you junk food. I’ve had to ask mine the same. It’s hard cuz my husband has the ideal metabolism and can eat whatever, wherever. Meanwhile I look at something and gain weight 😩🤣 Write out your workouts for the week. I like to eat something light, go walk in my neighborhood right away! Before I “get too busy”. I tell myself I can walk as slow as I need to, but I’m getting out there no matter what - don’t care if it’s hot, drizzling (by thunder of course). 5-7 days a week. I make it fun and listen to comedy podcasts and audio books. I call friends and they walk too. I walk with neighbors. Make it fun. Meal plan and prep. Get all the junk food out of the house. Take progress photos. Hire a dietitian or health coach for support and accountability. You’re worth it!!!

Two and a half years ago I was exactly where you are today. Although I'm not where I want to be, I am certainly in a much better place than I was. The stress and isolation of Covid has put me in maintenance for a while, but I will reach my goal by the end of this year. I know you can do this because I did it. Good luck on your journey. 🌈💛🌈

I heard someone say if it's in the house, it's in my mouth. so, I try to keep the fridge half full with my foods and my sister doesn't eat what I eat so, I have to remind her to go easy when shopping. my therapist told me I should do my own shopping and cooking. Today IS the first day of the rest of MY life... we all can do this. I'm a loser. How bout you? 😆

Try setting smaller goals. Like losing 10% of your current weight. It has worked for me. Try doing things that make you happy to distract you when feeling like eating more than your daily goal. You can do it.

You can definitely do it!!! I never thought I would really lose weight, I tried exercising with vigor and never really changed, but I just started to eat smaller meals throughout the day and one healthy meal, maybe that could help. It’s been a journey I didn’t expect, but in either case I wish you the best of luck!!!

I’m sorry you waited a year to hit the pause button and rethink your plan. This can be done.

i could not get motivated until doc said I needed to lose 10 pounds. I had a quad bi pass in 2014. 4heart attacks in 2019. I walk a couple miles a day and only eat one real meal a day. we graze the rest. but he said I have to lose 10 pounds or my liver is going to die. so I got serious. I'm not doing great yet but I'm getting there. I was losing .5pretty much a day but right now it came to a stop.
