Umami is the secret of being satisfied with what you eat. Strive for it in every meal. Currently eating really yummy mushrooms, fresh asparagus and brown jasmine rice. Rich satisfying and eating more isn't close to an option.

Very true..."beefy" portabellos will get you there as will any food with naturally occurring glutamate (lean meats, seafood, tomatoes, tofu with a little soysauce, carrots, all potatoes, milk/cheese (esp parmesan, and even green tea). Dishes that combine fat, a little carb and protein will help to give that satiated feeling too (look at all the glutamate in a cheeseburger with ketchup - make yourself a mini slider)! Thnx for reminding us, Wholefoodnut, that we don't have to feel hungry and deprived.

I love good food. Eating food that is not good leaves me hunting for something else to eat.
