My mom sent me some Christmas presents in the mail, and it's almost all food. And it's ridiculous. Is it weird if I think she's trying to sabotage me, even subconsciously? I told her I've lost twenty pounds, and then she sends me all of this:

1. 6 boxes of pasta. (Three of them are Annie's pasta which I will be eating on my freebie days thank you very much, the rest will be given away.)
2. A bunch of single servings of cocoa. (I like it, but it's not worth the calories to me.)
3. A whole bag of candy necklaces. (Not interested, will be given away.)
4. Five chocolate bars. (Will also be given away, despite my interest.)
5. A little loaf of Mestemacher Three Grain Bread. (Healthy, will keep and consume heartily.)
6. Five little jars of jams. (Two of them are blueberry and strawberry, not interested, those will go away. Will keep raspberry, pineapple + apricot, and cinnamon apple.)
7. At least a pound of peanut butter fudge. (Not worth it, not that interested. Will be given away.)
8. Forty six of my favorite cookies in the world. (Will give away thirty-six of them, keep ten for freebie days. If I over-ate them I wouldn't be as happy about them.)
9. Two boxes of tea, delicious and no problems there. One of them is Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane and I just tried it and it's probably the best tea I've had in a long time. Sweet without adding anything to it, comforting, delicious.

But seriously, forty-six cookies? And fudge? And six variations of pasta? Does this not seem a little bit like sabotage? :D

I feel my boyfriend does this to me as well - I tell him I need to loose wait and he brings me a king size snickers bar home a few hours later from the store or hands me candy in the movies when he knows I'm trying to loose weight and have been struggling to do so for months. Hang in there and don't give in throw out or give it away immediately - I gave it to my son and sent him to his room and told him to eat it immediately.
