awasser's Journal, 06 September 2010

I killed my day at the home stretch. Went downstairs for my final something light to finish the day and ended up eating 1500 calories. The big mistake was leaving out some freshly roasted hazelnuts. A few are fine, but I ended up picking off 4 oz. one by one while doing other things. (Did you know that 700 calories worth of hazelnuts only has 8 net carbs.) I know now to put them away and not leave them in sight and in reach. The extra half hamburger I could have said no to as well. Maybe the second knockwurst.

About the nuts you see in my food journal, I've decided I'm in OWL and am incorporating them. I put them into 1 oz. portions in ziplocs so I can manage the portions.

New day.

Congrats on moving to OWL! I did the same thing and I think I also overdid it today. I got up to 2000 calories, the most I've eaten since I started Atkins. I think it was the nuts. I got the Planters NUTrition Energy Mix and while I limited it to 1/4 cup (1 serving), I had 3 servings throughout the day. Best of luck to you and let me know how you are progressing!

Hi there! I moved to OWL because I've found that upping the amount of veggies that I eat without regard to carbs works if I can keep my calories down. Down for me is below 3000. For the past week I've been keeping my food 1100 calories below my exercise journal amount with net carbs averaging 50g, and I've stayed in ketosis and have dropped a few pounds, finally! We'll see what damage was done tomorrow morning but I'm pretty sure I've found my track to success.
