Long weekend, lots of food. Really though, who am I kidding? I didn't do terribly, except for Saturday.

Friday was baking in the afternoon, I then had a grilled buffalo chicken panini, that I ate the whole thing of, because really, it was the only thing I had time to eat all day.

Friday night was two hours of rolling skating. Straight, I didn't stop, okay I did, but I played Dance, Dance, Revolution when I did! There was cake, which I refrained from, and then I had a few beers.

Woke up nice and early on Saturday so that way I could get this cake finished. It was so much fun and came out so nice (I'll get some pictures up later today), I started the day off right with a banana smoothie, unfortunately that was the only good decision I made all day.

Saturday between, chips and salsa, Harvest Cheddar Sunchips, BBQ potato chips, the frozen mixed drinks from the Friday's mixers (2), cheeseburger, hot dog, potato salad, pasta salad, london broil, rice pudding, and beers, I can only guess that I didn't do my best on Saturday.

Slept way in on Sunday, I honestly don't even remember what I ate, but I know I had chicken parmesan (breaded in fiber one, with reduced fat cheese, and brushed with lite tomato sauce) for dinner, and I can't remember if I ate anything else that day. I know I had some Silk in the morning, but since I spiked so much the day befoer, I think I tried to even it out the next day.

Yesterday (Monday), wasn't too bad. I started the day with a smoothie again, this time strawberry banana, I made Joe one, too, Banana Blueberry. They were really good. A little bit higher in calories than I would like for them to be, but delicious and I'm getting all sorts of calcium and other vitamins, not to mention my fruits in for the day. I had a cheeseburger without he bun and ribs, which a little bit of macaroni salad and cole slaw. And an ear of corn on the cob. There was a little piece of cake that seemed to have my name on it. They way it was cut, it would have been two bites, just enough to satisfy a craving. However, it tasted horrible, like freezer, if that makes sense. I really wanted ice cream, but again, I refrained.

That's another thing I did, I bought fruit. Joe and I almost never eat fruit, so whenever I do buy it, it always goes to waste, which I hate. So I bought small amounts of fruit this time. 4 peaches, 4 apricots, a small bunch of bananas, a small container of strawberries and blueberries. I'm hoping that these will last for a little while. I'm going to freeze the blueberries, so thay way I'll have them and they won't spoil.

I want to be able to keep fruits and vegetables as important parts of my diet, I think I need to focus on the food groups more. I keep my meats up to par, but fruits and vegetables fall by the wayside, unfortunately.

I still haven't weighed in, but I'm not feeling any differently. Also, a big breakthrough in all of this, I'm contemplating joining a gym, *collective gasp.* I'll let you know what I decide, I'm just scared I'm going to be stuck paying for something that I don't really use too often. Gym pros and cons, hit them up in the comments :)

Hope everyone's 4th was happy, healthy, and safe. End journal.

I think a smoothie for breakfast is a great way to start the day. The cals do add up, but--like you said--you're getting vitamins and your fresh fruits. IT's especially great this time of year when fresh fruit is often on sale. Sounds like you did well with your holiday weekend eating. Better is definitely a good thing. It means you're learning new habits, right? About the gym. The good thing is if paying for it makes you go. And people are working out around you, which makes a lot of people work harder than if you're working out on your own. Plus, if there are classes you can try something you've never done before and maybe find something you really love. I say if there's no long-term commitment, try it!
