Having a huge problem with exercise. Ive been walking 2 miles a day but cant get my heart rate up because I cant walk fast enough and I cant run. I have epilepsy so finding stuff I can do is hard. I cant join a gym. I dont have one close enough to walk to and I cant drive yet due to seizures. Hopefully I will be seizure free by May. Until then I feel stuck.

Don't stress about it. Do what you can now. I think walking 2 miles is good. Just gradually improve on length or speed or both as you feel ready for it. The most important thing is your diet. Stick to it and drink lots of water. Hope you can get rid of you seizures!!! Good luck

Just do what you can, when you can. Some movement is better than no movement at all. I started just marching in place holding a walker. Now I do 5k in 48 minutes. Never give up. Never surrender.

Look into LOW-IMPACT Aerobics. I think Jane Fonda did a video in like—1984 or so? The idea is getting heart rate up without killing your knees. You can play different music BUT the moves will be groovy too!

Do you have the resources to purchase a recumbent stationary bike? I paid around $150 for mine on Amazon. I have had it four about six years and it still works great. Good way to get your heart rate up in a short amount of time. The bike measures heart rate, distance, mph, calories burned, and total miles ridden.

Jump rope may be a good option?

Do reps on nearby stairs...you can do it slowly and still increase your heart rate.

Jdgreene is right. The stairs are the best option. Raising your heart rate is terrific but you can burn a great deal of calories through yoga and isometrics.

You can purchase an online subscription to Beach Body and work out at home.
