alllicat's Journal, 18 June 2010

So I ran out of VitaTops and didn't have enough time to pick up a box before work. I contemplated getting something at Dunkin Donuts before work, but a sweet sugary treat for breakfast ain't gonna help me drop the pounds.

I'm starting to feel good about this. I'm almost 3/4 of the way done with trying to lose, then it's onto maintenance. I wonder if my mindset is going to change at all when I finally hit my goal, or will I just set a new, lower goal? I mean, my secret goal has always been 115. But I'm afraid I'll look like a bag of bones if I get that low. As it is, when I tell people I want to be 120lbs, they look at me like I have some sort of disorder.

Anyway, this weekend, I plan on taking it easy. Joe and I just got Netflix and since we also have a Wii, we can stream unlimited movies. So between the three that we got yesterday, and the unlimited streaming, we're not going to be leaving the apartment for a long time.

Saturday morning I'm going shopping with my mom, nothing like Macy's One Day Sale. I'm hoping to find another adorable bathing suit and a couple of cute tops and/or dresses for vacation. I love that I'm no longer limited on what I can wear, because I have to hide my hideous shape.

So that's that. Father's Day this weekend, and I still haven't gotten my dad a gift, yeh, Hi, my name is Allison, I'm the world's worst daughter. I'll get something at the mall, it'll work out. Even Joe already got my dad a gift. I gotta get on the ball.

This is moving into birthday season, which is always a hard time. All of my friend's birthdays fall into a cluster. I have birthdays on July 1st, July 8th, my two best friends who are sisters, then my friend Monica's on the 24th, then my mother's on the 27th (which we'll be in Jamaica for), then my birthday on August 2nd, my dad and Joe's on August 23rd, and then my other best friend's on August 25th! Throw Momo's in there somewhere and I'm a busy/poor girl.

That's all my complaining. I do accept gifts :) for my birthday though!

Good job skipping the Dunkin Donuts as a replacement. You have a great mindset to lose! :)

Dunkin' Donuts has an amazing flat bread with egg whites and cheese for about 300 calories. It is so good. I pair it with the iced coffee and it's an amazing breakfast.

The next few months are really busy / expencive for us too.... there are 5 birthdays, a BUNCH of graduations, and a wedding that we all have to attend / give a gift for. Plus with fathers day coming up, I have to go shopping probably tonight for my father - he wants a pair of shorts, but get this, I have to cut out the size so he doesn't know that I'm getting him 36 - he thinks hes a 34, and hes just not! LOL Evan.... I don't know what I'm getting him yet. I'm going after work to get the caracuture framed that I had done of the girls when we went to 6 flags, and the gym was also a fathers day gift, just given early - I guess thats enough, I'll also pick up cards for the girls to give him of course. ANYWAY, good job on not getting anything bad at DD - I on the other hand went to Starbucks and got a twice glazed cinimin (sp??) bun... and a venti chai... yeah, not starting out this day well... I'll be back on track (again) by Monday I'm sure. And as far as maintaining... I guess I'm kinda there, and truthfully, I think its harder than trying to lose. You lose your focus because your "there" so your not really striving for anything, KWIM? At least thats my problem right now... Anyway, have a good one lady - Text me!!! LOL

We just go the streaming NEtflix for the Playstation and we are totally loving it. I'm actually thinking of canceling our cable--all the extra channels and just keeping basic. Well, I've been thinking of it for months (years?). But this might finally let me do it. Great job on the Dunkins. The flatbread is not bad at all--but this proves that you are definitely changing your way of thinking. I had a couple moments like that today--when I so badly wanted to reach for a piece of chocolate or a cookie and I didn't. Go us. My secret goal when I started was 132--but I was afraid to say it, even to myself. But now I am almost there. (And getting anxious about maintenance as well.) I am still kind of in shock. I'm not sure how tall you are. Is 115 a place you were and liked it? Or just a nice round number? Just curious. I mean, if it's not totally out of your healthy range then it is possible for sure. But you don't want to get caught up in something if it's too low. Totally depends on you, your body, your muscle structure.
