My weight is surprisingly high, however I do not appear to have gained weight. Currently I'm bloated from salt intake, however this is not factored in this assessment. I am assuming a majority of the weight can be attributed to the increase of muscle I've had.

I've gained quite a bit of weight since I started college, yet I haven't changed sizes too much. I figure it's an addition of muscle from so much weight training with hockey. I had a really rough night last night with not really 'behaving' on my diet. Depression benched me from my usual monday workout. I have hockey practice tomorrow and I hope to get back on the horse.

My benchmark weight was something that I just estimated. In august I was hovering around 148 and I could have easily guessed that I'd not gained that much. I know I look better and am surely hoping that the extra few pounds are muscle that I've built, rather than fat. I did misbehave for a few weeks...so I do accept some might be fat.
This is just more motivation to work to my goal. I'll get there :) It's just one week in, and now I know how hard I have to work.

Hi There,
My name is Meg and I'm a Freshman in college. I'm ever weary of the 'Freshman 15' and I really want to have a healthier lifestyle that can support me better. I'm a hockey player, so this extra baggage is a little much on the ice...it's gotta go!
Fortunately, I'm a vegetarian of 3 years. Eating healthy in the sense of vegetables is fine, it's just that the choice between lean protein to carbs isn't always there...fortunately, my college is rather diverse and I've found foods from other cultures that I can hopefully find when i am on my own. Foods like Curried Chick Peas provide a packing punch of protein.
I am nearly constantly dieting. It's' all part of a rebuilding myself effort that started around the same time I became a vegetarian and started playing hockey. I USED to weigh 218 at my heaviest and a size 22. That was most of my childhood, peaking in my sophomore and junior year of high school. A day came when I said 'No more'. I weigh around 150 now (148 before my descent into college) and am now a size 9 in the jeans. The feeling is so liberating and free...I just want to lose a little more. Not out to be stick thin...just out to be the best I can be on the ice.
