Good luck every one. Eat healthy and happily enjoy what you eat. Be sure to include some foods that you absolutely love, that are healthy so you aren't depriving yourself. For example I love strawberries, and other fruit. So I try to treat myself to some. I love avocados, I can't eat them often but I do have some in my salad sometimes....Don't beat yourself up if you have an occasional treat not on your diet, just enjoy a little bit, then continue forward eating to lose. I'm trying to teach this concept to myself and to believe it, that no food is totally off limits, just some foods need to be moderated and enjoyed less often. If I tell myself NEVER it like always on my mind screaming me me me, pick me!!! So instead I try to say sometimes but not right now. My days off are the days when I tend to want to indulge, I'm going to try to be better about that because it's often times destructive to my goals.

So today i'm joining fat secret. I have over the past year lost about 33 pounds, but have gained back a couple of pounds. I was up to 235, and am currently at 204.4. I work graveyard shift at an assisted living center, which is usually my only source of exercise. I was recently (like about 1 1/2 months ago) diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, so this has helped to motivate me to do better. sometimes it's hard to stick with my weight loss goals. I find that if I stay away from sugar, and starchy carbs, I do better. I don't have cravings, but when you cook for a others it's hard to always do. I don't seem to lose weight if I eat starchy carbs and they set me up for cravings. Recently we've had a couple of birthdays, so for about 10 days I was eating sugary foods. The result was gaining a few pounds, cravings, drinking less water, and my blood sugar rising. So about 2 days ago I decided I better re-commit, for heath sake. On the bright side it has been at least 6 years since I have been below 205 pounds, so I am happy about that. I think for the first time I have a healthier attitude about losing wt. It doesn't have to be fast, as long as I'm eating healthier, and making some progress. I'm 53, and I have always wanted it to come off fast, but that is not realistic, and it never lasts. Since I do work night shift it is hard for me to get motivated to exercise. But I do know I should try to incorporate some exercise into my life. So today I have eaten 3 choc. chip cookies, after making them for my daughter to take some to a friends house. It's really hard to be good, when you have them in front of your face. Even if I hide them so I don't have to see them, I know they are there. I swear it feels like I'm a sugar junkie.(But at least I didn't eat 6 or 12 cookies) What I find does help me when I am having good success, is to find some foods that I love, that are with in my healthier choices. For example I love strawberries, I love meat and sometimes cheese on my salad, I love avocados. These foods help me feel like I'm still entitled to treats. Does diet soda work for you? For me it does on occasion, but then that sweet taste sets me up for cravings again, even though it's not sugar. grrrr!
