The scales are going the wrong way. The fight is getting harder especially since I will need another steroid shot soon. I have the glucose under control. so on to the diet.

The steroid shot has turned me into an eating machine. I must force myself to stop. I am going back to the place where I started and lost the 50 lbs. I need to do it again.

Made it to the end of January with slight weight gain. I had a steroid shot in my hip and it shot my sugar out of sight and has made me crave sweets and food in general. The shot is starting to wear off so maybe I can lose a few pounds before the next one and get my sugar back under control. For the next shot I will be prepared to take drastic measures to prevent anything like this happening again. I will remove ALL snack, sugary and salty treats. Put more healthy choices in the freezer and refrigerator. I can't stop going to the grocery and getting the bakery donation for our church food pantry but I can stop sampling the goodies.

31 December 2017
Today ends an eventful year and a terrible month. With holidays , doctors visits and bad weather December was a bad month to keep track of anything. I managed not to have a sugar reading over 200 but the numbers were up and down like a yo yo. Unfortunately I gained 5 lbs. Tomorrow I will start anew and reach my goal weight and desired A-1c. Despite all obstacles I WILL eat better and get the weight off. In December I saw 4 different medical providers and now hopefully on the right path. My only complaint is these days you can't get a team of doctors or providers. The providers I saw work for the same health organization and don't know each other. And that is sad. Onward to a bright and better 2018 Happy New Year.

This season is very hard for keeping on a diet for diabetes , weight loss or staying even. All that good looking food and all those delicious smells emanating from the kitchen. Hosts and hostesses always push their delicacies and being a good guest it is hard to refuse. So the answer is take vert small portions and compliment the host right away so they won't think you are not happy. Tell them it is great even if it taste like it came from the day old shelf at the store along with say you are making room for something else.
