i lost over 100 lbs on atkins 20 yrs ago . i started one week ago at 298 lbs lost 11 lbs. I am married, 59 yrs old and need desperately to lose the weight and keep it off. crazy thing is i feel great on atkins and know i should maintain that lifestyle. need support.

hi, me again be real careful about labels and carbs. make sure on induction you are eating acceptable carbs(Atkins website) also website has carb counter. ive printed off info and placed in folder for quick reference, also have recipes in there etc. for me i cant cheat or i gain

hi Colleen,from experience some can some cant! what I eat and how much I lose depends on alot of factors. ! lost quicker 1st time on atkins but this time i really have to stick to atkins much closer. i keep cold baked chix in fridge at all times, great for quick snack can be added to induction vegies for quick stir fry meal in a hurry!! its surprizing how many delicious meals you can come up with/ for me i look towards variety and simplicity

ATKINS VS OTHER DIETS
I'm sorry arent we all trying to lose weight and be healthier? I am certainly not going to judge any way someone chooses to lose weight and that is basis of Fatsecret I think. I eat healthier when im on Atkins, no junk food, and definetly alot more fresh vegies Thelma

Net Carbs
I DID THE 'OLD ' ATKINS 20 YRS AGO JUST SALADS , MEAT ,EGGS SOME CHHESE DURING INDUCTION . I WAS FINE BUT I ALSO TOOK ALOT OF VITAMINS. I THINK THE VEGIES KEEP YOU FROM GETTING BURNED OUT AND BORED AND KEEPS THINGS WORKING BETTERIF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN(BULK, FIBER, CONSTIPATION)

WOW JUST READ THE CRITICAL POST ON ATKINS. COME ON PEOPLE WE'VE ALL PROBABLY TRIED DOZENS OF DIETS...WHAT WORKS FOR SOME DOESNT FOR OTHERS. ATKINS WORKS FOR ME, I FEEL BETTER, AND I EAT HEALTHIER (NO JUNK FOOD) ATKINS IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE.. IM CLEANING UP MY ACT . I EAT MORE VEGIES CUT OUT CAFFIENE (MOSTLY) AND FAST FOOD BYE BYE . NO ONE SAYS YOU HAVE TO DO ATKINS IF YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER WAY AND IT WORKS GREAT BUT I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO WITH ATKINS
