I am a diabetic, which has progressed in the last 6 months. I also have high cholesterol. Strong family history of heart disease resulting in early death. I mostly eat vegetables, fruit, whole grains and nuts. I allow myself one to two days a week of either chicken, fish or the very rarely, beef. I'm not only trying to loose weight, but eat better to become more healthy. My physician has suggested a 20 pound weight reduction.
