Today the gym was packed with those "new years resolutioners" who all take up the machines and show up for about a month and then never come again. I feel sorry for these people because they go full blown into workout mode when they don't really know how to work out. If they gradually started working out and slowly introduced a new eating habit, it wouldn't be so bad, and so drastic and they might actually stick with it. Why is everyone so gung ho? Just chill out.

Went Skiing for the first day this season. It was pretty good, of course PA slopes aren't that great, but for the first day of the year I was pretty happy with my performance as well as the resort that we went to. Before lunch we got in 14 runs. (PA slopes are short) After lunch we went and did 8 more runs. And then we left.
Skiing burns a ton of calories while you're skiing, but most of the time is actually spent on the chair lift getting back to the top of the hill. So even though I spent 7 hours "skiing", only 2 of those 7 were spent physically going downhill.

Merry Christmas!
Yesterday my family was so accommodating for our diets by having a seafood fettuccine alfredo dish. It was absolutely delicious. I behaved and kept my portion size under control. I even resisted cheesecake!! GO ME! As for the wine though, I happily helped myself to a second glass. It was a holiday afterall. I rarely drink and this was a time to celebrate. I clocked in at only 1700 ish calories for the day. That's not bad!
Today finally the YMCA opens again. They were closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I can't wait to try out my new hot pink gym sneakers that my hubby bought me as a gift. They're so cute.
